I bet I know a lot of my friends who'll wet their selves and dig deep on their trousers because their favorite martial artist will wield his wares unlike anything they've seen before! Fans of all genres (whether and gay) will bear witness on the fact that Donnie Yen's Ip Man character can be viewed in 3D!
I've even photoshopped a couple of his images to celebrate this feat!
Yes, Ip Man 3, the glamorized story of Bruce Lee's mentor will be seen in 3D in select cinemas. Hopefully the movie will be shown in the Philippines because I know for a fact that Ip Man 2 was shown in select cinemas after its worldwide acclaim (I watched the first Ip Man movie while riding the bus). I guess this is bound to happen especially now that technology has successfully made dance movies watchable through 3D environment as well as concert movies like the one that Justin Bieber and the Glee kids had.
In all seriousness, maybe this is the break action movies can do – especially the martial arts flicks to make their genre brace the future of cinema. Jet Li can make movies with this in mind and hopefully Jackie Chan can give Hollywood another shot to make another Kung Fu masterpiece (maybe they can "3D" Drunken Master and his other works.
I think the best way to maximize this technology though is through Yen who has been hot as of late… and Stephen Chow who needs to follow up Shoalin Soccer and Kung Fu Hustle as quickly as possible (CJ7 sucked).
