The Power of Words vs Beliefs - The Rabbit Way - The path to start ...

Chris Brogan’s newsletter promises to help you grow your business. And every Sunday, Chris sends you something to your e-mail to fulfill that promise. This last Sunday was no different. He wrote about the power of words. I replied this to him (and I thought that you might find it helpful).


Words are very powerful, aren’t they?


Our lives change with words. The words we say to others. The words that others say to us. And, like you said, the words we say to ourselves.


However, words as powerful as they are (and they really are), they are only an echo of an internal brain process called thoughts.


This means that while we can change our words after we speak them (by catching ourselves doing it), we’re trying to change something from the outside. We’re not targeting the source.


This is the reason why most people struggle with affirmations. They go like this:


“I’m healthy and happy”


“I’m healthy and happy!”


“I’M HEALTHY AND HAPPY!!!!”


And their brains go – “who are you kidding?”


So we have to ask – what controls our thoughts? What’s the one thing that influences what we think about?


Our beliefs!


What I believe influences the thoughts that run in my mind and, by implication, the words that I speak. It also influences the actions I take AND the results that I get. I’m talking about the kind of stuff that can make saline (salty water) be as powerful as morphine!


This explains the reason why some people decide to take action and buy your book or join one of your online courses and others don’t. This explains why some get massive results and others don’t. They can’t take action or get better results UNTIL they believe it. Why? Because their brains don’t want to turn them into liars, that’s why! :D


Now there’s two options (I’m feeling like Morpheus in the Matrix… LOL): you can trick you brain and get fast results or you can train your brain and get lasting results.


Tricking your brain is about changing your words and turn them into affirmations. You can also add one more ingredient to make this EVEN more powerful: your physiology.


Physiology is a big word to describe a simple thing: how you use your body. That’s it!


Have you noticed how you use your body WHILE you talk?


Try this – go into this position with your body



The Thinker



and say “I can do this!” three times. How did you feel?


Now try this one – shoulders back, your chest up, your back straight



and say “I can do this!” three times. Felt any difference?


However, this doesn’t change our beliefs UNTIL you used it to break the reinforcing patterns that built your beliefs in the first place! The pattern of who you surround your self with and pattern of what your day looks like are just two quick examples.


There’s only one way to break patterns and that’s through immediate and massive ACTION! When you see yourself breaking your patterns and get results that destroy your initial beliefs, that’s the moment when you got enough leverage to create new beliefs about who you are and what you can do!


Mastering your beliefs is exactly what can make you become fearless OR, what I like to call, unstoppable.
