I would like to learn a Chinese martial art and I thought i’d see if the home of my ancestors had any martial arts styles that were founded in the area.
The following martial arts are very famous and made well known by Kung Fu masters from the Guangdong province, although probably did not actually originated from there (the actual origins are just legends which accuracy can’t be proven):
- Wing Chun, made famous by Yip Man (and Bruce Lee)
- Hung Ga, made famous by Wong Fei-Hung
Both of them were from Foshan (Cantonese: Fatshan), Guangdong.
