We still get these things?
I guess that doesn’t surprise, what does is some of the uninformed answers…
First: Chuck Norris did not create Tang Soo Do. but he did study it and earn his BB in it. He did create a style though, called Chun Kuk Do, which is very similar and has many of the same precepts. He also holds an 8th degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and is fact the only Western to do so. He is 65-5 in full contact Karate.
Jackie Chan has no combat experience period, he is an actor who got ALL of his Martial Arts training in the Peking Opera School, he didn’t study deadly arts while at a young age, or continue his Martial Arts career outside of it. He simply studied Martial Arts, Acting, and Acrobatics. Everything you see is choreography, though mostly it is choreography that he has written.
There is a huge difference.
Any damn fool who says that Jackie Chan is more of a Martial Artist than Chuck Norris (Multiple black belts, including a Grand master 8th degree in TKD, the only person in the Western Hemisphere awarded one) is a damn idiot.
Jackie Chan has studied a few forms of Kung Fu while in acting school, he holds no rank in any system nor does he continue training in any style nor does he teach any style or art.
This is a ridiculous thing really, it is like asking who would win between Ziyi Zhang (Crouching TIger, Hidden Dragon, and House of Flying Daggers, etc) or Michele "Mouse" Krasnoo. (Look her up)
There will be people on here saying that Zhang Ziyi would beat her and is a "real Martial Artist" totally ignorant of the fact that she ISN’T a Martial Artist period.
It is a pretty regular thing in Chinese and Asian movies and such to have dancers or people who are great at Choreography play in Kung Fu films.
In fact most of the "Martial Arts" action stars have little Martial Arts behind them period, and little to no actual sparring or fighting training.
So in their prime, now, 20 years ago, 10 years from now Chuck Norris is by leaps and bounds a much better fighter than Jackie Chan (who never fights).
